So this beer is pretty good. Generally I drink Abita’s wheats which are pretty good. It’s nice to change it up though, once in awhile. This beer has that bite that is generally devoid in wheat beers, but it’s not harsh and definitely drinkable. I don’t really have a set scale or rubric for scoring, but if I had to estimate, I’d say that a 7 of 10 seems appropriate.
So I suffer from a problem that plagues most Asians of southeast Asian heritage. Whenever I consume alcohol, I turn flush red. While perusing the Internet, I read that Pepsid ac does the trick. Well after a night of pubquiz with subsequent beer drinking, I can report that the pepsid ac works. For my sake, I Used the generic private label famontidine. Worked like a charm.
So I’ve always loved the band Kings of Convenience, and I think that it’d be great to get some kind of similar sounding project going, especially if I could do it live. At any rate, last night I was perusing youtube, looking up videos of Seu Jorge, who’s pretty brilliant. You’ll probably recognize him from the Life Aquatic performing Brazilian covers of David Bowie. Quite possibly my favorite one is his rendition of Life on Mars:
Either way around, listening to these easy-going sounds and given the fact that it’s summertime, I would really like to get some kind of musical project going. I started playing around with Garageband last night, and came up with this song (which I’ve cleverly uncleverly titled ‘Brazilouisiana’). I have a really loud in-wall Air Conditioning unit that would cause background noise, but you can just pretend that it’s the gentle waves of the ocean in the background. Enjoy:
